The latest single “Make Out” releases 8th November
Evy’s latest track, takes a new direction into dramatic dream soundscapes. This 5 minute, at times epic song, sweeps through genres from trip hop, rock and to ethereal folk. Evy’s third single release, is a follow up to her April release “Standards Too High” and her 2021 debut track “Overly Cautious”. “Make Out”, brings new flavours to Evy’s songwriting and performance, with driving electric guitars, swirling harmonies and dub style beats.
I first started writing ‘Make Out’ in April on the acoustic guitar, starting off with the chords and the main hook. It progressed lyrically from that, I then started playing the track live at some gigs which helped me discover new elements to the song and it helped me pick out what worked and what didn’t.
Then me and my dad started recording the track at home using my old upright piano, acoustic &electric guitars and bass. I loved worked on various harmony ideas and vocal lines that I’d experimented with live. Bringing this all together in the studio, has really given the track a lot more shape.
