The fourth single release from 20 year old UK singer/songwriter Evy Frearson “Sideways Onwards”, takes a foray into the realms of rock and indie. A pounding rhythm section lays the scene for soaring guitar layers and vocal lines, which shift from simmering, to full fire in the chorus.
Evy wrote the song in mid winter, jamming around the main two chords in the chorus until a melody hit “ I wanted to link the song to something I was dealing with at the time, and so it felt easy to write around these feelings “. Sideways Onwards is about being totally and irrevocably vulnerable ” it’s really about being comfortable with every part of your being and sharing that experience with someone else “.
The track has already been featured on BBC Introducing Essex as the weekly vibe, as well as Future Hits radio.
