The fifth single release from 20 year old UK singer/songwriter Evy Frearson “Better For You”, is a mesmerisingly sweet anthem of a track. A psychedelic and dreamy soft feel, “Better For You” pulls you into a strong rhythm and gliding melody, inspired by the likes of The Cranberries and Sixpence None The Richer. The whirring harmonies and jangling guitar, make way for the soaring melody and bittersweet lyricism.
“ I wrote the song in the September of 2022 after a long and charming summer. It’s a song that really reflects that moment in time so well and brings back the nostalgia of that summer for me. It was also a song amongst a shower of tracks I was writing at the time, so it kind of got lost in the sea of iPhone voice notes, for me to find and start recording over in the march of 2023. The song is about how insecurity can bleed into love.”
