Standing on the Pavement

Evy Frearson’s 9th single “Standing on the Pavement” is a moody and intense landscape that draws on the fears of letting someone go.

“I had a bad night out in London and the journey home was long, difficult and I carried a ton of baggage ( literal and emotional). I felt like I was about to spill out all over the pavement. Alongside this I was feeling shameful, guilty even for wanting to let go of a relationship, although deep down knowing staying would hurt me more.”

The track is a musical 180 degree departure from Evy’s last acoustically minimal release “home”, with a fuzzy overdriven baseline, tense drums and a soaring guitar solo.

Evy’s lead vocals are joined in a harmonic collaboration with Ollie Edgington of Myopia.

“ The fuzzy bass for me was what really solidified the tracks feel for me and really moved the process along for me. One of the key layers of the song was the male vocal in the chorus, for me it needed to be the right one.  I immediately thought of Ollie ( Myopia ), whose vocals had truly taken me aback when i’d seen him playing live. I was so excited to work with him when he came on board, he just got the song and the vibes I was  going for

“Standing on the Pavement” releases on Friday 29th November.
